Denise Castronovo obtains recognition from the GIS Certification Institute for her contributions to the GIS profession by obtaining certification as a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP).

Mapping Sustainability becomes a registered Trademark and Service Mark from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Denise and Jim Castronovo presented their remote sensing work at the Boston Urban Forest Coalition’s premiere event: Planting Peace: An Evening with 2004 Nobel Peace Laureate Dr. Wangari Maathai.
