Mapping Sustainability created the curriculum materials and GIS exercises for FEMA’s EMI-234 Digital Hazard Data Course. We co-taught the course with First American Federal Solutions. The course was a week-long training on using digital hazard data, such as FEMA’s Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM), for hazard mitigation, response and recovery.
Mapping Sustainability created the curriculum for the E241 Advanced CTP Training course. This course included an introduction to DFIRM and Field Mitigation Devices, which are mobile GIS/GPS tablet PCs used to collect data for hazard mitigation and damage assessment. Mapping Sustainability taught Floodplain Managers about GPS technology, how to create custom ArcPad GIS applications and how to collect data in the field using a tablet PC. We co-taught E241 with First American Federal Solutions, Michael Baker Jr. Inc. and FEMA.
