Client: Tufts University
Project: Topographic & Ecological Map of Hummingbird Cay, Bahamas

Mapping Sustainability traveled to a remote 236 acre island in the outer Exumas of the Bahamas to map the topography and ecological assets on a private island, Hummingbird Cay. We obtained 1 meter satellite imagery of the island to assist with ecological classification of different habitats. Using a GPS, we surveyed mangrove and wetland resources in addition to trails, buildings, and the island perimeter. We summarized our study with a large format map featuring photos from the island and naturalist writing.
