Mapping Sustainability - intelligent mapping sustainable solutions

Our Work

Municipal GIS Database Development

Client: Town of Lexington, MA
Project: Geodatabase Design & Creation, CAD Conversion,
and Staff Training

Building a GIS from the ground-up requires skilled GIS design to ensure that your GIS investment meets data integrity standards. Mapping Sustainability is developing a GIS system for the Town of Lexington, Massachusetts that is scalable, reliable, and easy to use. Mapping Sustainability is creating for the town a geodatabase for their parcels, sewer, water, septic, zoning, recreation and conservation, and trees. Our work has entailed CAD conversion, GIS integration with a third party pavement inventory system, developed the parcels, recreation and conservation data. We have worked closely with the Engineering, Planning & Zoning, Public Health, Recreation, Conservation and the Superintendent of School’s office. We are creating a geodatabase of parcels, buildings, roads, water and sewer from CAD drawings. We are building the geodatabase with topology rules and error checking routines to facilitate future changes to the data. Throughout the process, we are working closely with staff from the town and providing GIS training as we work together.
